With intensively managed sports turf there is a very low tolerance to pests and diseases. In the domestic arena however, even where a fine lawn is concerned, a little understanding of nature and the consequences of intervention can result in a less intensive regime which means less work, less cost and a healthier, more balanced and rewarding lawn and garden.
As with many other problems, establishing what the invader is and why you have it in the first place is half the battle. A little understanding may result in an appreciation of the benefits of the invader, an acceptance that little can be done or a solution based around sound lawn care practices rather than chemicals and poisons.
